So, I have some exciting news..
It was super unexpected but we're so excited to add a little munchkin to our happy family! I'm already looking up baby names, and baby room colors, and those pacifier things that I feel like babies need, and… okay, JK, did I actually have to fooled for a second? Seriously? I can't even keep a plant alive, let alone something that needs to be fed and loved and not watered just once a week.
I DO have exciting news though. Well, unless you live under a rock, you probably already know what I'm going to tell you. After talking about it since I was 15 years old, I finally packed up my life and moved it to Toronto.
It was pretty unexpected.
It sorta went like this.
1.) Book flight.
2.) Pack Bags.
3.) Leave Edmonton.
It's safe to say that I have a giant bucket list. Around 400 things, if we wanna talk numbers. Swim with sharks? Go to space? Maybe a little bit tricky to cross off (but it'll happen.) However, I didn't want to look at this list 10 years from now and see that "Move to Toronto" hadn't been touched.
I don't know what will happen here. Maybe absolutely nothing. Maybe absolutely everything that I've laid awake dreaming about at night since I was a teenager.
Whatever happens, or doesn't happen, all I know is that "Move to Toronto" has a solid black line through it, and I couldn't be happier about it!
I meant to move here three years ago. Instead, I fell for a boy, stayed for a boy, boy broke my heart and I debated breaking boys face - or at least his cars windows. Lesson that you should take away from this is, follow your mutha effen' dreams!!
But on a serious note, I always put other people's happiness before mine. For years and years, I thought it was acceptable to sacrifice what I wanted for the sake of other people's happiness. I now have learnt that it's not. The people who are worth keeping in your life will support you, try and help you succeed, and love you unconditionally - even if you end up at the opposite end of the country. I'm so thankful that I have a group of people that I can say will do that for me. (You guys & gals know who you are, and I cannot tell you how much I LOVE you for that - I also feel like I need to mention how much I NEED my bff, Jen Ludek here, ASAP. Help me get her here, k? Otherwise you're just going to keep seeing our weird text conversation pop up on twitter..)
Soo.. let's all just support the fact that I've wanted to be a Much Music or MTV VJ since I was 15, and hope that this will be the year that they decide they want to give me a shot. I plan to bribe them with baked goods, and stand outside their windows with fan signs for.. well, myself. Either they'll give me a job because I'm dedicated, or because I'm batshitcrazy and I'll make for good television.
I've only been here for two weeks, so I haven't done too much yet. I HAVE avoided eating street meat every time I pass it on every street corner here, however, I did wander into a place called "Korean BBQ" which was basically the same thing. First time I've eaten red meat in.. probably about a year. I'll see ya again in 2013, cow. Or.. whatever it was that I ate.
Other then eating a type of animal that I'm sure I played with at petting zoo's as a child, I took an advanced editing course in Finaly Cut Pro (#nerd) that basically ensured that my brain couldn't focus on anything other then that for a solid week. I'm only started to get it functioning properly again - just in time for Canadian Music week!
I hit up my friends party, Hey Bombshell, at the Fairmont York Hotel, which is basically the place to be every night during CMW - since all the fun stuff happens there! Other then that, I've just been wandering and exploring this fascinating and overwhelming city.
I PROMISE I'll blog more and keep you guys updated on my crazy adventure along the way.
To anyone who's loved and supported me, you'll never know how thankful I am. For anyone who's ever talked shit and said I couldn't do it, you'll never know how much you've motivated me to be the person I am today - and I just so happen to really dig that person - thank you. <3
I'll leave you with my latest video & some pictures. Let's just say the video's not for people with weak stomachs!
